Immune system-the protector

The human immune system is, if spoken correctly, quite a miraculous one. This is one involuntary system that involves the participation of one of the components of blood, the white blood cells and the extra cellular fluid, called the lymph. Also referred to as the lymphocytes, the white blood cells are classified to B lymphocytes and T lymphocytes. T lymphocytes are responsible for the production of antibodies which take part in all the immune responses of the body.

Whenever there is the entry of a harmful, disease causing organism in the body, the white blood cells get activated and produce antibodies which combats and kills the organism, hence preventing the disease. Moreover a memory of the particular organism is retained for any possible need to combat it in the future. The immune system is what keeps us disease free, as much as possible. A breakdown of the immune system can prove fatal.
