Skin care, relaxation and meditation
Very often, the best groomed people are plagued by skin conditions. A sense of wellbeing can only appeal without the blemishes that this brings on.
- The first thing to do would be to go to a doctor to rule out any hormonal problem.
- Irregular meal times, with lots of in-between-meals snacks are another major cause of acne. Regularize your meal timings.
- Make sure your personal hygiene is very good and that you keep your face clean and oil-free.
- See to it that you are not suffering either from indigestion or constipation.
- Sleep for at least 6 hours.
- Make sure that you use only very good cosmetics, if at all.
Relaxation and meditation – a few minutes of deep breathing and meditation does wonders to your body. You must ensure that you are getting enough sleep, so that your body relaxes completely, and you are ready to take on a new day.
Get rid of dark circles
Sometimes long exposure to sunlight can cause dark circles to form under the eyes. Ways in which you can reduce these dark circles are:
- Get enough sleep. Your body needs anywhere between 6 to 8 hours of good sleep.
- Make sure you are not under stress. If you are, then use de-stressing techniques like meditation, yoga, and exercising, preferably, outdoors.
- Ensure that your diet is a balanced one with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Drink not less than 8 glasses of water every day.
- If you have to go outdoors, wear dark glasses.
- One very simple, but effective, thing you can do is to lie down in a darkened room with your eyes closed and put 2 thin slices of cucumber over your closed eyes. This brings immediate relief.
- If your work includes sitting for long hours at a computer, take short breaks and sit with your eyes closed. This reduces the strain on the eyes.

This tiny little thing can be absolutely devastating to one’s self-confidence. These are actually small pores in the skin, and they are connected to the oil glands which are found just under the skin. Normally, the oil glands secrete oil, which rises to the surface carrying dead skin cells.
If the level of the hormone androgen increases, more oil is produced and vice-versa! This oil is washed off. However, if there is a blockage in the follicle, then the oil with the dead skin cells remains trapped forming body acne. It is the face, back, chest and shoulders that are the worst affected because these are the places where the most oil glands are found.
