Dental care-a necessary necessity

Human beings have a unique configuration of teeth. Heterodonts, as we are called, we possess more than one kind of teeth, namely incisors, canines, premolars and molars. Our teeth are covered by a hard shell called the enamel which protects the inner parts from harmful bacteria and other infections. This enamel might just be spoilt and broken into by such bacteria; the disorder is commonly called a cavity. This might result in infections of the gums and also removal of the infected tooth.

Prevention is always better than cure. There are ways to stop the microbes from attacking our teeth. Two of the homely steps that are commonly taken involve brushing up the teeth twice a day and washing your mouth out after every meal. Some people also use floss to clear the portions where the toothbrush finds it hard to reach. There is also a need to visit a dentist occasionally.
